OYB 2011 A tremendous tourSaturday, October 1, 2011 - Sunday, October 9, 2011 The 23rd On Your Bike Tour started at the small wheatbelt town of Hyden, famous for a spectacular granite outcrop known as Wave Rock. We waved goodbye to Hyden then explored the changing rural landscapes and charming farming communities of Western Australia’s Wheatbelt region as we made our way back west to Midland. Along the way we experienced the quirky tin horses of the Tin Horse Highway, magnificent granite outcrops, beautiful nature reserves, dazzling wildflower displays and the splendour of the forests in the Perth hills. The tour was a one-way tour with participants being bussed out to Hyden from Midland. After a visit to Wave Rock, we rode to Kulin (via the Tin Horse Highway), Corrigin and Bruce Rock before enjoying a rest day in Quairading. We continued to York (via Beverley) and Bakers Hill for our final concert night before finally returning to Midland. It was an exceptional tour, and greatly enjoyed. Thanks to Terry, Ann and the rest of the committee and the volunteers.
The final day offered the option of a ride along the railway heritage trail instead of riding on roads. The 2012 tour is on 27 October – 4 November 2012 on a circuit from Capel to Capes Leeuwin and Naturaliste
